The Beastie Boys’ ‘Sabotage’ Music Video Was Recreated With Sesame Street Characters: Watch!

Getting a Sesame Street treatment! A video of a Beastie Boys’ strain “Sabotage” starring Sesame Street characters has left viral after it was posted on Wednesday, Jul 5.

The video’s creator, Mylo a Cat (Adam Schleichkorn), who is famous for his mashups, used footage from a 1985 Sesame Street film Follow That Bird to reconstruct a 1994 stone song video scene-for-scene.

The children’s film follows Big Bird after he runs divided from home and attempts to hedge a amicable workman Miss Finch. The rest of a gang, including Count von Count, Grover and Oscar a Grouch, set out to find him. Meanwhile, Big Bird encounters dual fraud artists who contend they can assistance him censor from Miss Finch by putting him in a “hiding cage.” They paint him blue and put him in their fair to attract visitors. He eventually gets behind to his home on Sesame Street.

Mylo a Cat’s video mixes Follow That Bird footage to make it into a satire of a 1970s crime drama, only like a “Sabotage” song video. Title cards declare, “The Count as Cochese,” “Oscar a Grouch as Bobby, a Rookie,” “Super Grover as The Chief” and “Ms. Finch as Bunny.”

The mash-up ends with a perspective of Sesame Street with a difference “R.I.P. MCA” in reverence to a late Beastie Boys member Adam “MCA” Yauch.

“The strange ‘Sabotage’ song video is but a doubt, one of a biggest of all time,” Schleichkorn wrote of a YouTube video. “So we knew we couldn’t do a unchanging aged mouth sync video, we had to move it! RIP MCA.”
