Mariah Carey’s Advice to Lionel Richie on ‘American Idol’: ‘Don’t Do It’

Mariah Carey didn’t chop difference when asked for her dual cents on rumors that Lionel Richie is being deliberate for a judging mark on a American Idol reboot. 

“I would say, don’t do it,” Carey told Entertainment Tonight on Monday, Jul 31. “No, I’m usually kidding. If he wants to do it, that’ll be great. we consider he would be unequivocally good during it.”

“Yeah, they usually were perplexing to foil me when we went on there,” Carey told ET of her time as a decider during a 2013 deteriorate of a singing foe show. “So, we know, that’s a usually reason because we contend that [to Richie].” The cocktail star and “All Night Long” singer, 64, are now headlining their All The Hits tour, that achieved in Los Angeles Monday night.

Katy Perry has already been announced as a decider on a ABC reboot, and Carey gave a “California Gurls” thespian her opinion of confidence. “She’ll be good too,” she told ET.
